MLive says: “We start off our list with a couple of themes you'll see throughout -- water and state parks. Harrisville State Park is a mostly wooded park with a beautiful sand beach on Lake Huron. Not much can beat a Great Lake. Here you'll find campsites, a rental cabin, trails, day use areas and more. Plus, the park is walking distance from the shops and restaurants in Harrisville.”

While the article really hyped up Harrisville State Park with this description, we found it extremely underwhelming and uninteresting. The park itself is very small, and doesn’t actually contain many trails at all. The beach was pleasant, but it was far too cold a day to swim or enjoy a lakeside picnic, even. There was a slight rain forming as we arrived, deterring us from exploring much. It was a good stopping place for a short walk about and a glimpse of Huron, but not much else.

All together, a very anti-climactic stop on my birthday! We were quite fine to move on and explore other parts of the lakeshore, instead - we headed toward Iosco County next.
